LACQUERWARE Wooden containners made of woven bamboo
can be both reinforced and beautified by repeated
coatings of lacquer. After a final varnish is applied
to provide a glossy black surface, designs are drawn
on with cinnabar or gold leaf to enhance the splendour
of this famous Thai craftwork.
